Senior Accountant – Private Home Care Business

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage general ledger and month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Analyze variances and trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability across service lines and locations.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions.
• Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide requested documentation.
• Ensure proper accounting for collections, and revenue recognition.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and assist management with decision support analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in home care, or related service industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
• Experience with iSolve payroll systems and homecare billing preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• High attention to detail and integrity handling confidential financial information.
