What you will do
The Business Analyst – IT Systems Analyst Data Interchange will be responsible for assembling, analyzing, and representing business requirements for the Data Interchange requirements of Clarios, LLC. This position will be a trusted partner with the business community to understand current processes and design innovative solutions to meet their strategies to improve business efficiency. Additional responsibilities include gather business requirements, design IT solutions, write specifications, train end-users on process and system functionality, validate and test new functionality while following a formal SDLC methodology in a SOX compliant environment.
How you will do it
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in ERP Systems by identifying and addressing operational, financial, and technological risks within the business.
- DI Understanding in the manufacturing environment (Order to Cash/invoice and Procure to Pay process)
- Understanding of ERP systems like QAD EE and SAP
- Basic EDI documents are 850 (PO), 830 (Forecast/OE, 862 (Shipments/ OE, 856 (ASN) 810 (Invoice). There could be more requirements depending on every customer.
- Ability to understand Customer EDI mapping guidelines and our ERP flat file specifications. (understand structure text file layouts)
- May also include custom shipping label requirements (part of ASN process). Ability to verify Label designs meet customer specs and barcodes scan properly
- Coordination / management of development teams (EDI and ERP departments /consultants) for technical work. Partner with cross functional teams such as application support, infrastructure, and application management to create solution design that can meet business strategies.
- Coordination of other Clarios departments in master data setup (Items, Customers, Ship To’s) to complete data setup before testing. Some ERP configuration setup required.
- Involves status meetings, communication with customer (obtain information, answer questions, sending testing results for approval, resolving issues, working with outside Clarios departments, final documentation of final (successful) results, etc. (basic project management skills)
- Define application problems by conferring with stakeholders while evaluating procedures and processes at a complex level.
- Elicit and clearly document requirements, develop solution design, and establish specifications that are aligned across business and IT groups.
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements and lead result validation by developing test cases and provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
- Ensure smooth operation by training stakeholders and providing support.
- Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships.
- Focus on quality improvement and data management to ensure solution is reliable and valid.
- Recommend process improvements or re-engineering to improve quality.
- Recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities while adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders while communicating ideas and viewpoints to senior management.
- Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements.
What we look for
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, IT or any related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the following areas: Data Interchange, Transportation and Supply chain functions
- Experience in ERP platforms; QAD or SAP preferred
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes to develop solution design and functional specifications
- Ability to create test cases, test plans and lead test execution
