Driver- Truck/Van (US)

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Driver to optimize one of our Service Centers, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives. 

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Tempe, AZ facility. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both our warehouse and delivery teams. If you have experience in the warehouse industry and know how to utilize a forklift – let’s talk! 

The team 

Avantor’s facility in Tempe, AZ team is part of our Service Center. This team supports our customers by transporting cargo and maintaining inventory.

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred

• Experience:

  • 1+ year experience in warehouse operations for receiving, stocking, order pulling and shipping, utilizing computer system, and using RF readers

  • 1+ year driving 26' box truck with liftgate out of a warehouse operations

• Certification(s):

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience

How you will thrive and create an impact 

• Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck

• Experience operating 26’ box truck.

• Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment utilizing electric pallet jack and manual pallet jack.

• Reach truck and order puller experience preferred. Will be trained if needed.

• Clean driving record.

• Ability to read/understand BOL. Match BOL with delivery order. Match BOL with packing slip.

• Ability to load truck in order of stops.

• Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a normal shift

• Experience with warehouse inventory management.

• Cross train to support material handlers.

Conditions

• Industrial warehouse environment where the associate works near moving mechanical machinery. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment.
