Driver and Janitor

Job Objective: Provides materials pickup and delivery service; provides facility and grounds upkeep service.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule and/or follows pickup and delivery schedules
- Load and unload truck
- Performs basic janitorial /custodial duties
- Performs basic grounds keeping duties including lawn care and snow removal
- Perform inspection of vehicle(s)
- Perform daily maintenance on vehicle and equipment
- Arrange for service to vehicle(s)
- Report damage, problems or malfunction of vehicle(s)/equipment to management
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School academic or equivalent
Experience: Prior driver/delivery experience helpful
Certifications/Licenses: Operator’s license required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate assigned vehicle
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, basic hand tools, and grounds keeping equipment
- Ability to work and meet deadlines independently with minimum supervision
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Requirements: Include speaking, hearing and vision; manual dexterity to be able
to operate vehicle; bending, squatting and walking; lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds; to be able to load and unload materials in vehicle; sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel: Minimum once a week for 2-4 hours in one day
Driving: Yes. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
