Driver / Activity Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate Van Driver/Programming/Activity Assistant to join our team! The Van Driver/Programming/Activity Assistant is responsible for providing transportation for community residents. S/he assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing all activities requiring van transportation, as appropriate. Also, ensuring areas are set up for each program on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
• Maintains a current understanding of procedures if an accident should occur with the van, with or without residents on board
• Follows proper reporting procedures
• Ensure common rooms, tables and chairs are set up properly and supplies are staged in advance of various resident programs
• Ensure all common areas of independent living are maintained in neat order
• Completes assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple duties and responsibilities
• Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
• Must be hands-on with residents getting into and out of van to ensure their safety
• Acts as Activity Assistant when on excursions; stays with group at all times except for when parking the van

Requirements

• Have a demonstrated interest in the elderly and are knowledgeable of servicing their needs.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
