HID Global is seeking a skilled Drawback Analyst to join its Global Trade team. This role focuses on recovering import tariffs for goods that are later exported, ensuring compliance and maximizing cost savings. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of duty drawback regulations, exceptional analytical abilities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

As our Drawback Analyst, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Identifying duty drawback opportunities across business units and product lines
  • Reviewing import and exporting documentation to determine eligibility for drawback recovery
  • Preparing and filing duty drawback claims with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including unused merchandise, substitution, and manufacturing claims
  • Coordinating with internal departments (e.g., Logistics, Finance, Purchasing) and external stakeholders to gather necessary documentation
  • Monitoring claim status and following up with CBP to ensure timely processing and refunds
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting for audits and internal reviews.
  • Supporting daily customs clearance activity performed by external customs brokers may be assigned.
  • Soliciting, collecting and verifying certificates or origin and other required trade documentation from suppliers
  • Conducting periodic audits of broker entries and escalating discrepancies.
  • Supporting post-entry processes (PSC, protests, etc.) to correct or recover duties.
  • Assisting in internal audits and CBP inquiries.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to reduce duty exposure and improving compliance.
  • Training internal stakeholders on import compliance best practices and documentation needs 

 

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

  • Bachelor Science or Business Administration in Engineering or Supply Chain related field
  • Combined 2-4 years’ experience in import compliance and drawback claims in a manufacturing company
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations
  • Experience with HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States), USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement), and trade documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and CBP Systems (e.g., ACE, ABI)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and document management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with FTZ operations is a plus
  • Experience/Ability to work in a matrixed organization,
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment,
  • Strategic thinker having problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Passion for setting and meeting aggressive goals,

  • Able to detect gaps and implement the needed solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and preferential trade agreements, import/export policies, and custom clearance procedures.
