Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.
- If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
- If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

Education & Experience Required

- 8+ years of related relevant architecture or programming experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligning capabilities and investments with business strategy, AI initiatives, and enterprise technology objectives.

Design and govern enterprise data architecture, including data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouse architecture, streaming platforms, and cloud-native data services.

Design and govern enterprise data products, ensuring data assets are discoverable, reusable, interoperable, and aligned to business capabilities and domain ownership models.

Develop and govern data models, standards, metadata, and data governance practices that support operational, analytical, and AI/ML use cases.

Architect data integration patterns and data platforms that support operational, analytical, and AI-driven workloads.

Lead data architecture governance, including reference architecture, architectural reviews, technology standards, and exception management.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, engineers, and enterprise architects to align data architecture
