Position Overview
The Hill Correctional Center is looking to hire a Human Resources Assistant. The ideal candidate will keyboard a variety of confidential correspondence, memos, records, and reports to be signed by the Warden. They will assist with secretarial duties in the Warden's office, when necessary, and log/prepare files for second level employee grievance for the Warden's office. In addition, they will take messages in the Human Resources Office and update confidential emergency checklists and phone lists. Job Responsibilities
- Keyboards a variety of confidential correspondence, memos, records and reports to be signed by the warden.
- Assists with secretarial duties in the Warden’s office when necessary.
- Logs and prepares files for second level employee grievance for the Warden’s office.
- Takes messages in the Human Resources office.
- Updates confidential emergency checklists and phone lists.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of related clerical experience such as would be acquired at the Office Assistant level, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
