This position is to serve as the Warden (Senior Public Service Administrator Option 7) for the IL Department of Corrections at Centralia Correctional Center.

Essential Functions
- Formulates and implements rules, regulations, directives, policies, and procedures governing employees and individuals in custody.
- Directs and evaluates program responsibility.
- Plans and directs facility budget.
- Consults with court officials, law enforcement personnel, and other agencies regarding care and individuals in custody.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Completes inspections of overall physical plant, equipment, and grounds for safety, security, sanitation, efficiency, maintenance, and to ensure operational effectiveness of facility.
- Travels to speak before civic groups and organizations to discuss programs of the facility and Department of Corrections.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminology, penology, or a related field.
- Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement public or private organization, a correctional facility, or related field.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- Requires ability to qualify with firearms within twelve (12) months of start date, and annually thereafter in accordance with agency directive and state or federal laws.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
