- The Role: At the Xylem Southaven, MS Distribution Center our mission is to deliver to our customer the perfect order every time. Xylem seeks to hire a Distribution Supervisor responsible for the on-time and accurate shipping of customer orders for the Flygt product line.
- Oversee Flygt shipping and ensure service standards are maintained, and the site can execute agreed upon continuous improvement projects in alignment with the WI business team
- Support Receiving team to ensure inbound material is processed according to established processes and that the additional processing requirements are executed against in support of the Flygt business; help lead inbound packaging project to support the business quality needs
- Manage reverse logistics function by processing returns, interacting with quality and commercial business teams and ensuring processes are followed by all parties
- Manage direct reports in associated areas
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Supervise receiving and or shipping personnel. Develop and maintain a successful team.
- Responsible for achieving key metrics related to shipping and or receiving performance and reporting to leadership.
- Work with leadership to maintain adequate staffing levels and schedule overtime as needed to achieve performance targets.
- Investigate material flow concerns to keep receiving/ shipping warehouse flowing.
- When necessary, work with on-site inventory management and teams from other Xylem facilities to solve problems and improve processes.
- Must be knowledgeable in all work processes and computer systems and ensure distribution staff are trained in all work processes and computer systems.
- Responsible for establishing or improving processes in receiving and or shipping to meet productivity and accuracy metrics.
- Safety and Cleanliness of warehouses.
- Back up for shipping/ receiving supervisor as required and/or other roles within the shipping/logistics department as needed.
- Other duties and Projects as assigned.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Strong Leadership Skills: Develop and empower personnel to achieve goals.
- Excellent communication skills: clear, concise communication on crewing, 5S, safety, and planning each day. Communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers, leadership, and coworkers.
- Computer competency: Excel, carrier systems, ERP/MRP systems, willingness, and interest to learn/develop further.
- Continuous improvement mindset: Experience in Continuous improvement, lean management, and 5S. Experience developing and documenting standard work and work processes in a distribution environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and still maintain ideal disposition towards staff.
- Ability to work well with a cross functional team of all levels, and the open mindedness to recognize there’s something to learn from every one of them.
- Education: Associate degree in business or related field with 3-5 years in a receiving/ shipping environment.
- Any related certifications - Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement - are a plus.
