PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the Director of Technology Strategy is to lead and oversee the enterprise level strategy execution, innovation initiatives, value realization, and business process optimization. This role will oversee a high-impact portfolio planning function, ensure alignment between strategic objectives and execution, and drive enterprise architecture to support long-term business growth and agility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management

  • Leads the enterprise portfolio planning function to ensure alignment of programs and initiatives with corporate strategy.

  • Oversees prioritization, funding and governance of strategic initiatives to maximize business value and ROI.

  • Partners with business and functional leaders to assess portfolio performance and enable agile deicion-making.

  • Establishes and drives a value management framework that quantifies benefits, ensures delivery of business outcomes, and supports continuous improvement.

  • Collaborates with finance and product teams to monitor value realization across initiatives.

  • Champions a value-focused mindset across the organization.

Enterprise Architecture Oversight and Innovation Leadership

  • Provides strategic leadership to the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure IT capabilities align with business strategies.

  • Defines and maintains the target architecture and technology roadmap.

  • Facilitates the adoption of standards and best practices for scalable, secure, and agile technology platforms.

  • Drives the innovation agenda by identifying emerging trends, technologies, and business models.

  • Leads cross-functional innovation initiatives that unlock new opportunities or improve operational performance.

  • Creates structured processes for idea incubation, piloting, and scaling.

Process Optimization

  • Oversees the business process analysis and optimization efforts to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

  • Implements process governance, metrics, and continuous improvement practices.

  • Fosters a culture of operational excellent across the enterprise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONISBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Value Management Office and Enterprise Architecture teams and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in strategy, portfolio management, innovation or enterprise architecture.

  • Proven track record of delivering business transformation and measurable value.
