Your Role
The Director, Systems Transformation & Innovations a senior leadership role responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering team capable of owning core system development, integrations, and innovation initiatives. This role will establish deep expertise in Facets APIs, batch processing, extensions, data publishing, and healthcare integrations, while providing hands-on technical leadership across C#, SQL, Kafka, Angular, Node.js, and Python. In addition to the delivery accountability, this role will define modern engineering standards, SDLC governance, and knowledge retention practices to ensure quality, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance. A strong innovation mindset is required, with emphasis on automation, reusable framework, ands AI-enabled engineering tools.

Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Build, lead, and scale a high performing software engineering and innovation team. Success will be measured through cost savings, delivery quality, and improved speed to market.
- Establish and maintain deep expertise in Facets architecture, APIs, batch processes, extensions, data publishing, and the ancillary systems (example: HPXR, TCS, NetworX, CMU, etc.). This knowledge will enable long term platform stability and modernization.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across modern technology stack including C#, Oracle, SQL Server, Kafka, Business Object, Angular, Node.js, and Python. This role will guide systems integration decisions and mentor senior engineers and technical leads.
- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and remediation of APIs, interfaces, extensions, and system/product upgrades. All solutions must meet enterprise standards for scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and SDLC governance across teams. These practices will ensure consistent, high-quality delivery in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Drive innovation through automation, reusable frameworks, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled engineering tools. Innovation initiatives should produce measurable improvements in productivity and operational efficiency.
- Partner closely with product, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to translate roadmap priorities into technical solutions. Strong collaboration and executive communication skills are critical to this role.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier engineering talent to support long-term insourcing and transformation goals. This role is expected to build a culture of accountability, learning, and technical excellence.
- Establish formal knowledge transfer and documentation practices to preserve institutional and system knowledge.
- Ensure high availability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance of mission-critical platforms. This role includes proactive identification and mitigation of technical and operational risks.
- Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on systems modernization, vendor strategy, and technical debt reduction. Recommendations should be data driven and aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Foster an innovation driven, results oriented culture that emphasizes ownership, quality, and continuous improvement. Leadership behaviors should model collaboration and disciplined execution.
- Define, track, and communicate success metrics related to cost savings, delivery performance, and innovation outcomes. Executive ready reporting will be required to demonstrate progress and impact.
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, systems integration, or platform development. Inclusive of 10+ years of experience leading and scaling high-performing software engineering teams.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Facets architecture, APIs, extensions, batch processing, and data publishing.
- Deep hands-on experience with integrating Facets with external systems such as Salesforce and Pega.
- Deep hands-on experience with Facets ancillary systems such as HPXR, TCS, and NetworX.
- Expert level proficiency in C#, SQL, Kafka, Business Objects, and at least two modern programming frameworks or languages (Angular, Node.js, Python).
