Description
We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience (professional services, corporate finance, investment banking or audit) to join our growing restructuring advisory team. We offer a unique entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to work directly with distressed companies, financial sponsors, creditors, shareholders, and other stakeholders on situations both in- and out-of-court. Responsibilities
- Support project team in its day-to-day tasks and workstreams, delivering value to our clients and serving as a trusted advisor
- Independently apply and clearly articulate financial/operational restructurings and valuation concepts (including bankruptcy process) to clients and other team members
- Independently lead, review, and provide guidance on complex analyses
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams with ability to manage both up and down, and escalate appropriate critical items / questions to senior team members
- Supervise junior team members, acts as a positive role model and is seen as motivating to others, gives clear direction to the team and execute projects; coaches and develops direct reports.
- Continue to build relationships with peers on engagements including clients, attorneys, and investment bankers
- Lay out an effective approach to a presentation with guidance from more senior team members
- Conduct discussions with clients about status and results of work performed with minimal oversight
- Identify key milestones and manage accordingly
- Help resolve analytical and technical problems as they arise
- Effectively communicate with both clients and senior leadership
- Develop and review research and pitch decks with various team members
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related analytical and quantitative fields, preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in turnaround management, restructuring, performance improvement investment or commercial banking, audit, FP&A and/or corporate advisory services or 6 years of work experience and an MBA
- Acquired professional certifications (Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), etc.), preferred
- Energetic, hardworking, creative team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment
- Ability to develop realistic recommendations under shortened time constraints and imperfect information
- Ability to establish credibility and influence clients
- Experience working on and managing junior resources through complex work streams or projects
