The Role at a Glance

 

As the Director, Reinsurance, you will be a subject matter expert on the TAI Reinsurance Administrative System and the leader of the team responsible for all aspects of reinsurance administration as the Life Business Owner of TAI. The role will establish strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to execute the needs, goals and objectives for Life Reinsurance department.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Leading reinsurance billing/claim administration teams, including mentoring, coaching, training, evaluating 7 team members.
  • Owning the TAI reinsurance system: signing off and approving new releases, creating tickets for the MSP team to address, approving new users and levels they require, collaborating with IT department on all initiatives involving the TAI system.
  • Collaborating with Reinsurance Treaties and Actuarial teams to review language for new treaties and amendments implemented on TAI; understanding when administrative updates require treaty amendments by identifying in-scope policies and quantifying financial impacts.
  • Collaborating with Reinsurance Accounting: Owning SOX Controls for TAI Reinsurance Administration: validating the monthly ledger feed from TAI, signing off on Quarterly SOX testing, answering questions from external partners, and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Communicating with our external reinsurance partners by providing updates for ongoing reinsurance initiatives, responding to complex questions, and responding to Reinsurer Audit requests.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • 2 - 3 Years clerical and/or administrative support experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. 
  • High School or GED  
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information. 
  • Demonstrated solid relationship management skills with internal and/or external clients (e.g. management, peers, colleagues, customers, etc.). 
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues, and peers. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

The pay range for this position is $93,300 - $169,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications require
