Our Greendale, IN facility specializes in gummy manufacturing. On site, we have a state-of-the-art Mogul unit for manufacturing gummies, a highspeed bottling process, and a pouching operation.

The Director, Operations will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership for manufacturing operations, which include but not limited to,production, packaging, and warehousing, to deliver the highest quality products at the lowest attainable cost.  In addition, this Director will be responsible for ensuring a close partnership with all stakeholder groups to ensure proper development, cost, and delivery goals are met.

The Director, Operations creates and implements processes that minimize production costs and waste while maximizing production output. The Director recommends methods to improve safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. The Director, Operations ensures adherence to corporate policies and procedures, establishes operational objectives and assignments, and delegates assignments to managers and supervisors. This role is also responsible for implementing company policies which affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect, working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors, and exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. The selected individual ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met while also complying with SQF Level III, Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards and cGMP.

The Role:

  • Oversees and direcst the planning and execution of daily production & packaging activities

  • Develops and implements financial and non-financial objectives for all the manufacturing facilities facilities including the annual budget, financial forecasts and operating plans

  • Accountable for the manufacturing department budget which includes production, packaging, and warehouse. Utilizes data to facilitate the timely, accurate interpretation, and reporting of performance, quality, and safety data

  • Implements Continuous Improvement to generate improvement plans that feature both short and long-term improvements with and without capital investment. Drive key initiatives throughout the manufacturing teams in the areas of Quality, Sustainability, Cost, and Service through Continuous Improvement

  • Responsible for driving issues to root cause and developing a zero-loss mentality. Responsible for the department staffing strategy, skill and development of the staff, performance management and employee morale

  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices. Identify and address constraints that prevent achievement from schedule and/or provide feedback with appropriate data if schedule is unattainable

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement directly including process and performance issues

  • Resolves variances (production/packaging reporting, ingredient usage, labor utilization).

  • Provides consultation and leadership in the administration and interpretation of production, packaging, quality assurance, environmental, safety, and maintenance policies and procedures

  • Manages Key Performance Indicators for Manufacturing and participate in the target setting process for Supply Chain that generates substantial improvements with a goal to exceed KPI targets. Prepare, maintain, and present monthly key performance indicators to the Executive Team (KPI’s).
