The Opportunity That Awaits You: Director of Materials is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring raw material to complete finished goods through the complete production cycle. The position requires deep analytical skills and the ability to create metrics and dashboards to measure the overall execution of the Production Schedule and the projected FGI. Assess actual and forecasted demand, inventory and translate into an effective multi-quarter master production schedule (MPS) that will feed into the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP). The candidate will develop, maintain, and communicate performance of MPS, and other key performance indicators. The candidate will also be required to coordinate with Revenue Planning, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Engineering, and Purchasing to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints, manage engineering change orders, track safety stock levels, end of life, last time buys and mitigate backorder risk.

What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Lead and provide strategy for Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Management.
- Establish and achieve inventory targets for raw materials and finished goods balancing the needs of supply continuity, inventory turns and Excess & Obsolescence (E&O)
- Work with Planning Manager to facilitate and execute regular Sales and Operations Plan to meet the demands for commercial distribution and internal requirements for training, testing, R&D etc.
- Work with Senior Sourcing Manager in support of new products and commodity management.
- In partnership with Senior Director of Supply Chain, lead and negotiate contracts with component suppliers, contract manufacturers and service providers. Set and achieve cost reduction goals.
- Assess, monitor and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Participate in Make vs. Buy analyses with a goal to ensure optimal scalability, total cost, focus and protection of Procept IP/know-how.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while establishing expectations of high performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate availability of raw materials and supplies to manufacturing lines.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers and distribution centers.
- Establish a suite of key Process Indicators (KPI) to monitor the health of each functional area.
- Develop and share dashboards that provide transparency on actual performance compared to KPI targets.
- Build, coach and manage a high-performance team with a culture of continuous improvement.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
- BS Degree with a MS or MBA preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years progressive experience in supply chain.
- 7+ years of direct management experience in capital equipment and consumables manufacturing in the medical device industry or a similar regulated environment.
- Extensive ERP and Supply Chain systems experience.
- Integrate the MPS into the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for optimal alignment and decision-making.
- Proven leadership skills in building and managing teams with a history of world class success.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with customers and internal employees.
- Professional work ethic, high capacity, strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to operate independently.
- Foster strong collaboration across multiple departments to ensure alignment on schedules and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Resolve supply, demand, and capacity issues.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
