And we are on the hunt for a Director of Loss Prevention to just that. Maintaining the safety and security of the hotel’s guests, associates and assets stay at top-of-mind in this critical role. This job is all how about how you react, or just as important, don’t react, within extenuating circumstances. It’s about staying a step (or five) ahead of potential situations, identifying them and managing them with professionalism, reasonable thinking and in accordance with our policies.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Loss Prevention is responsible for the safety and security of the hotel's assets, guests, and associates, including accountability for all loss prevention functions and staff. During times of excitement or uncertainty demonstrate a calm and professional demeanor, yet identify and manage situations that pose a risk. Responds to any safety and security issues, concerns or disasters in accordance with all policies, procedures and regulations. Maintains close vigilance of the operation. As a department head, directs and works with leaders and team members to successfully execute all loss prevention operations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement security strategies. That includes creating and updating security policies, procedures and protocols. Ensure compliance.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training to team members and other stakeholders.
- Investigate security breaches, coordinating with law enforcement, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety drills for testing emergency plans, familiarize team members with procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
- Administer fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments at the property to include quarterly OSHA/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and the hazard abatement process.
- Build an effective safety committee. Establish clear objectives and responsibilities for the committee such as reducing incidents or improving safety awareness.
- Develop detailed "shut down" procedures for the property to ensure that all areas are secured at the appropriate times.
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local law and safety regulations.
- Follow proper key control guidelines in loss prevention and in the property.
- Develop a monthly checklist for all CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms to ensure that they are fully functional. Make suggestions for improvement.
- Incorporate into patrols, which encompass all areas of the property's interior and exterior, an inspection tour of recording system.
- Follow Duty of Care process for the protection of guests and employees.
- Follow up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the wellbeing of guests and team members.
- Handle complaints, settling disputes, and resolving conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with guests, team members, vendors, etc.
- Implement action plans to monitor and control risk.

- Responsible for inventory, storage, organization, and tracking of lost and found.
- Oversee all loss prevention operations to include but not limited to patrol process, emergency response, investigations (initial & follow up) for all guest and employee related incidents, handling shipping and receiving of guest packages, electronic key system and manager on duties responsibilities.
- Oversee first aid program for guests and all team members.
- Meet quality standards and customer expectations on a daily basis.
- Identify the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
- Inspect and critique the performance of the loss prevention department to establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Develop liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services and build relationships.
