Reporting to the VP of Communications, the Director, External Communications will play a key role in helping tell the story of Veralto and its operating companies to external audiences. We’re looking for a natural storyteller who is equally comfortable crafting content themselves as they are pitching a narrative to a reporter or podcaster.
In this highly collaborative role, you will partner closely with operating company communications partners, business leaders, and enterprise associates to source and craft stories for the myriad of audiences that Veralto engages with every day – potential future associates, customers, investors, and the communities where we live, work and provide essential services.
This position is part of the Global Communications team and will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, MA, with on-site presence required 2-3 days/week. Remote working arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement strategic plan to highlight the contributions of Veralto and its Operating Companies for investors, customers, future associates and the global community we serve.
- Discover and craft stories that can be shared through owned, earned and social channels.
- Measure effectiveness and reach of external engagement.
- Support the vice president of Communications in preparing the executive team for quarterly earnings, M&A communications, and other enterprise-level external communications activities.
- Leverage AI to help drive Veralto’s external communications content engine.
- Serve as primary contact for Veralto charitable partners.
Critical Competencies
- Strong storytelling instincts and writing skills.
- Tech-savvy with practical AI application skills in content creation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years in external communications at a public relations agency, media outlet or in-house, with global experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success implementing enterprise-wide programs.
- Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies.
