Director, Enterprise Risk Resiliency

Job Summary:
The Director, Enterprise Risk & Resiliency will serve as a Sr. Subject Matter Advisor on Enterprise Risk Management related engagements which embrace BDO’s Risk and Resiliency entrepreneurial approach to integrate industry leading practices with innovative techniques and methodologies, collaboratively building and maturing programs for our clients. In this role, the Director will leverage their expertise in enterprise risk management, crisis management, business continuity and resiliency, to influence companies and senior leaders across various industries, creating memorable experiences which improve their ability make risk-informed decisions, manage crises, continue critical business operations and integrate various risk functions. The Director is creative and confident and comfortable facilitating c-suite meetings, training, and navigating conflict.
The Director is also accountable for growth and management of a portfolio of accounts, meeting sales targets, while also ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget and delivering innovative and quality products which bring unparalleled value to our clients.
The Director is also responsible for mentoring, coaching and the professional development of junior staff and is able to adjust and connect with team members with varying levels of experience.
Job Duties:
- Manages consulting, financial and operational numbers, such as utilization, realization, margin, sales pipeline
- Demonstrates ability to grow, expand, cross-sell accounts
- Establishes engagement budgets, coordinates deliverables, and maintains appropriate project management to ensure engagements are delivered “on time, on budget, and as promised”
- Consistently develops and delivers accurate and thorough project status reports to client stakeholders and management
- Proactively identifies project risks and issues and resolves them in a timely manner
- Cultivates and maintains strong, trust-based strategic relationships with key client decision makers
- Identifies revenue growth opportunities and coordinates business development efforts including drafting and issuance of statements of work
- Facilitates workshops and presentations to client personnel
- Provides clients with strategic guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management, resiliency, and enterprise risk management
- Recommends enhancements to client operations and infrastructure to strengthen risk management capabilities
- Contributes to the development of methodologies and intellectual capital
- Exhibits mastery of consulting methodology, materials, tools, and risk management software
- Participates in client pitches, leads the development of proposals and contracts and manages new relationships through CRM
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides strong leadership, technical guidance, coaching, support and confidence building to managers and junior consultants ensuring they are trained on all relevant tools and techniques
- Evaluates the performance of junior consultants and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required; major in Business Administration or Risk Management preferred
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), preferred
Experience:
- Twelve (12) or more years of consulting experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk management, business continuity or crisis management, required
- Leading ERM initiatives including risk identification, ranking and development of risk controls matrices, required
- Experience successfully building new business and leading engagements, required
- Knowledge of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) and International Standards Organization (ISO) ERM frameworks, required
- Knowledge of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) frameworks, reporting requirements and processes, preferred
- Experience in the financial services/ insurance industry, preferred
Software:
- Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
- Familiarity with risk and/or resiliency software (e.g. Archer, Fusion, Origami, ServiceNow Fairchild, etc...), preferred
