This role will define the architectural blueprint that aligns business strategy with technology capabilities, modernize legacy systems, and drive innovation across manufacturing, supply chain, customer experience, and data platforms. The ideal candidate will be a visionary with deep experience in enterprise architecture, manufacturing systems, and digital modernization.

Alamo Group Inc. is currently accepting applications to fill a Director, Enterprise Architecture position at its Corporate Headquarters.

 

The Director of Enterprise Architecture is a strategic technology leader responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise-wide architecture vision to support the digital transformation of a equipment manufacturing company. This role will define the architectural blueprint that aligns business strategy with technology capabilities, modernize legacy systems, and drive innovation across manufacturing, supply chain, customer experience, and data platforms. The ideal candidate will be a visionary with deep experience in enterprise architecture, manufacturing systems, and digital modernization.

 

The Director, Enterprise Architecture will:

  1. Develop and lead the enterprise architecture strategy to support digital transformation, operational efficiency, and business growth
  2. Define and maintain architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks across business units and technology domains
  3. Partner with executive leadership to align technology investments with strategic business objectives
  4. Oversee the integration of ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, and other core platforms into a unified, scalable ecosystem
  5. Lead modernization of legacy systems and adoption of cloud, edge computing, and IIoT technologies
  6. Guide architecture decisions for data platforms, analytics, cybersecurity, and infrastructure
  7. Mentor and lead a team of enterprise, solution, and domain architects to ensure architectural consistency and innovation
  8. Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to inform strategic planning and competitive advantage
  9. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, cybersecurity standards, and enterprise risk management
  10. Serve as a key advisor to the CIO and executive team on technology strategy, investment, and transformation roadmaps
  11. Additional duties as assigned.

 

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  1. Expert-level understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner EA)
  2. Proven leadership in digital transformation within manufacturing or industrial sectors
  3. Deep knowledge of ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MES, PLM, CRM, and supply chain systems
  4. Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), hybrid infrastructure, and edge computing
  5. Familiarity with IIoT, smart factory technologies, and Industry 4.0 principles
  6. Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into technology solutions
