The Opportunity:

Lendio is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering teams. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will be instrumental in driving the technical vision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture. You will partner closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into robust and scalable technical solutions. What You'll Do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.

• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and other leaders to define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of innovative and reliable products and features.

• Guide architectural decisions, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable to support Lendio's growth.

• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.

• Foster strong collaboration and communication within the engineering organization and across cross-functional teams.

• Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application to Lendio's platform.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance in resolving complex engineering challenges.

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and results-oriented engineering culture.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple engineering teams.

• Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling engineering organizations in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• A demonstrable ability and willingness to contribute to the codebase alongside their teams when necessary.

• Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies, best practices, and tools.

• Strong technical acumen with experience in designing and building scalable and resilient systems (experience with cloud platforms like AWS, microservices architecture, and API development is highly desirable).

• Familiarity with our technology stack, including Vue.js, PHP, Laravel, and Node.js, is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Experience with financial technology (fintech) or marketplace platforms is a plus.

• Experience with data-driven development and analytics is a plus.
