What You’ll Do

The Strategy and Corporate Development team drives mid to long-term growth strategy and value creation for Samsung Semiconductor including M&A, venture investments, and partnerships. Our sectors of interest span all aspects of semiconductors (memory, logic, and foundry) as well as end markets (data center and cloud, networking, 5G, automotive, mobile, and IoT). We are looking for a Director to join our Strategy and Corporate Development team.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose office three days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time

• Targeted memos/proposals on key semiconductor markets and players: CPU, AI Accelerators, Silicon photonics, automotive, GPU, cryptography, custom compute, foundry
• Developing / maintaining views on semiconductor market opportunities (estimates, tailwinds, headwinds, incumbents, disruptors)
• Developing/maintaining a “top 10” list of key players; creating and maintaining intelligence (roadmaps, results, business outlook, key developments, equity research, leadership team, BoD, SWOT)
• Updating consolidation chessboard 1x / quarter
• Lead new opportunity exploration and strategy/investment thesis development projects
• Develop breakthrough strategy recommendations to drive value creation
• Support M&A and partnership transactions, and venture investments
• Develop and deliver executive-level presentations

What You Bring

• MBA/Masters with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 5+ years of experience is preferred.
• Semiconductor industry experience, with at least 3 years in corporate strategy or development, or 5 years in business planning / product management
• Contribute to Market Intelligence with semiconductor industry
• Management consulting background a plus.
• Exceptional strategist and out of the box thinker.

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

 

Base Pay Range$158,400—$312,000 USD
