Job Description
We are looking to fill an open Director, Corporate Controllership role in AECOM that will report to the Chief Accounting Officer of AECOM. The ideal candidate will have extensive progressive controllership and management experience at a national public accounting firm, in private industry, or a mix of both with experience in the private equity industry. This position will collaborate with various members of AECOM leadership in ensuring accurate financial reporting.
This position will be based in Century City, CA (Los Angeles area) and will offer some flexibility for hybrid work schedules with regular in-office presence expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including joint venture partners
- Act as a subject matter expert to analyze transactions within the AECOM structure and related investments
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements, including annual audit activities with external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Managing the annual budgeting process
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, including support for tax compliance
- Hiring, training, managing performance, and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Liaise with other AECOM corporate departments regarding major transactions, reporting and funding needs (i.e., Treasury, FP&A, Investor Relations)
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance required plus at least 12 years of experience including Big 4 or National public accounting firm experience, or progressive Controllership experience, as well as management of teams and at least 4 years of leadership experience
- CPA required
- Highly organized multitasker who works well in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products and presenting to senior management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Private equity industry experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle and TM1 systems is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
