As Director, Corporate Communications, you will lead the communications strategy for CenterWell, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. You will sit on the Corporate Communications leadership team and manage a team of communications professionals. Together, with your team, you will work collaboratively across business functions to develop and deliver compelling, integrated communications strategies and content that inform, engage and connect our associate population and key external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders across key corporate functions to design and execute strategic communications plans that advance transformative initiatives, enhance associate engagement, and support enterprise‑wide priorities.
- Oversee the development and delivery of communications deliverables, including executive messaging, scripts, large‑scale events, segment and enterprise content, and presentation support for the President, CenterWell and other senior leaders.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with executive business partners, fostering trust, alignment, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executives and business partners on communications strategy and issues management.
- Ensure clear, consistent messaging and adherence to brand standards to promote transparency, alignment, and confidence across the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Lead the development of creative multimedia content and compelling storytelling that reinforces the brand, culture, and customer‑centric mission.
- Use data, insights, and analytics to inform strategy, measure effectiveness, and continuously refine communications approaches.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of communications professionals through ongoing feedback, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
A successful Candidate would:
- Demonstrate a passion for emerging technologies and a demonstrated enthusiasm for creating engaging, interactive communications across internal and external channels.
- Demonstrate a strong command of data, analytics, and communications measurement to inform, refine, and evolve strategies that sustain relevance and engagement for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently plan, lead, and execute strategic, multimedia communications initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Be proactive, adaptable, and continuously focused on improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Have sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 10+ years of communications and change management experience, with a proven ability to design and deliver strategies that drive results across a dispersed, matrixed workforce and select external audiences.
- Leverage exceptional written communication skills, with a deep experience as both a strategic advisor and hands‑on content creator.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams and SharePoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working for a large matrixed or healthcare organization.
- Experience reaching a frontline workforce spanning a variety of work locations and work styles.
- Understanding of mergers and acquisitions communications and ability to execute high-impact communications campaigns.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This role will be located within the DC market.
In this role you will have up to 10% of domestic travel.
In this role you will report to an Associate Vice President.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.Scheduled Weekly Hours

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
