Job Description
We are seeking a Director, Corporate Accounting to support the Chief Accounting Officer in managing the corporate accounting operations of the Company through functional, technical, and process leadership with direct responsibility for all general ledger accounting and accounting operations including four direct reports.
You will partner with stakeholders across the Company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to develop and execute initiatives that will streamline, automate, and improve the accuracy of both daily accounting operations and the monthly close to report process including the continued implementation of NetSuite ERP. You will play a crucial role in ensuring we continue to build a world-class accounting function while partnering across the business to identify and implement ongoing process improvements.
The ideal candidate possesses public accounting, corporate accounting, and technology industry experience, with experience working within a fast-paced high-growth and dynamic publicly traded company environment. An active CPA license and recent experience in an SEC-regulated public company is necessary to be successful in this role. Experience in fintech or exposure to depository services or payment processing services is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable/billing/revenue recognition, cash management, T&E expense reimbursement, and payroll and benefits.
- Performs and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing activities and the preparation of related financial statements and various ad hoc reports.
- Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Clearly communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
- Owns the general ledger and recording of all transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
- Ensures team deadlines for accounting and reporting requirements are met.
- Maintains the Company’s general ledger chart of accounts and reporting hierarchy and ensures the ongoing integrity of the Company’s financial accounting systems/structure.
- Ensures accurate/timely direct and indirect tax reporting and payment and identification of any changes in regulations or exposure that could impact the Company.
- Researches accounting issues and applies the best practices and applications in accordance with relevant GAAP.
- Supports SEC reporting processes. Liaises with the Company’s independent auditors and supports the timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assists in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of effective internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements. Monitors ongoing compliance, makes recommendations for, and helps implement improvements.
- Leads continuous improvement in the areas of accounting operations and general ledger reporting process/systems to increase automation and scale.
- Assists in the identification, analysis, and implementation of revenue generating or expense saving opportunities in the Company.
- Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting and Finance Department.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensing required.
- 10-15 years of relevant and progressively responsible accounting experience including both corporate accounting and reporting experience within a fast-paced high-growth publicly traded company environment and
