As Director, Capital Markets Process Transformation you will be a key member of Capital Market’s Process Transformation Team (“Team”), which is accountable for catalyzing the delivery of a highly strategic portfolio of process transformation initiatives that are directly sponsored by the Operating Group CEO and members of the Executive Leadership Committee.
You will play an active role in facilitating and leading activities that enable the successful delivery of the process transformation portfolio. To execute this high-profile front office mandate, you will be required to engage and influence executives and senior leaders across Capital Markets, Technology & Operations, and other functions within the bank. You are a rigorous and structured thinker who can navigate a large and complex organization, understands the regulatory and economic resource constraints facing large financial institutions, can synthesize data into practical insights, and has proven experience enabling and leading high-impact institutional transformation.
What is the opportunity?
- Capital Market’s Process Transformation Team is organized under the Operating Group COO and is separate from, but a close partner of, the Project Management Office.
- Comprised of a small group of senior front office operators and corporate strategists, the Team serves as business-focused transformation catalysts to the Executive Leadership Committee and is mandated to help solve the highest priority and most complex process-related problems impacting the business globally.
- The process transformation portfolio is a permanent organizational structure that is managed by the Team and is comprised of initiatives that aim to re-engineer Capital Market’s problematic business processes end-to-end through innovative, client centricity and productivity lenses.
- Acting as a lead front office representative, you will play a business-focused leadership role in managing the portfolio and enabling initiative delivery.
Key job responsibilities include:
Portfolio Management
Ensure that the business outcomes of the transformation portfolio align with the intended performance and financial targets.
- Lead the day-to-day management and coordination activities of the process transformation portfolio, including initiative intake, resource allocation, benefit tracking and prioritization. Identify and solve/escalate issues that impede success.
- Proactively keep stakeholders aligned with the strategic priorities of the portfolio and well informed of decisions, process, and progress.
- Oversee a purpose-fit portfolio governance framework that ensures executive transparency, delivery rigor and strong performance management.
- Support and actively participate in all leadership committees to enable a culture of accountability, partnership, and effective challenge.
Initiatives Enablement
Catalyze an initiative’s success through hands-on, targeted support.
- Lead and / or participate in strategic process reviews from an end-to-end / front-to-back perspective.
- Document business cases for prospective initiatives, ensuring that problem statements are well developed, and prospective solutions are end-to-end and aligned with enterprise perspective/priorities.
- Engage project teams to make recommendations on optimal operating models (including people, process, and technology), verify that all business requirements are met, and ensure solutions are sustainable and aligned with managerial best practices.
- As needed, bridge the knowledge and communication gaps between the front office, technology, and enablement functions to maintain delivery pace.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of recent experience leading teams in a high-intensity environment, managing senior level stakeholders and personally delivering against declared goals through ingenuity, partnership, and exceptional communication skills.
- Leadership experience transforming and / or running complex operating models (people, process, and technology) that utilize managerial best practices such as Lean Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc.
- Must possess a deep understanding of the wholesale banking model and the risk, regulatory and compliance requirements across capital markets businesses.
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
