Director, Business Operations - Vrbo

The Director of Business Operations at Vrbo will lead strategic initiatives that span multiple products, focusing on enhancing the experience for Vrbo travelers and driving business impact. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing operational plans to optimize revenue growth and efficiency, managing cross-functional dependencies, and ensuring alignment to shared objectives. The Director will also establish frameworks to prioritize initiatives that elevate Vrbo's quality of service. Reporting directly to and supporting the General Manager of Vrbo, this position will oversee and track critical workstreams across the Vrbo organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Operationalizing Business Initiatives: Lead the operationalization of key business initiatives by translating strategic goals into actionable plans. Oversee the implementation of new business initiatives and cross-functional projects for Vrbo.

  • Traveler Satisfaction: Monitor customer satisfaction data pre- and post-booking, identify key insights, and partner with functional areas to define and execute initiatives for improvement. Build strategies and plans that enable quality to become a point of differentiation for Vrbo. 

  • Host Quality: Assess host and property manager satisfaction and champion initiatives that lead to the development of enabling tools and service for hosts that improve quality across the platform. 

  • Merchandising: Will lead cross-LOB merchandising coordination efforts to ensure retail promotions on Vrbo are coordinated across sourcing, marketing, creative and our consumer communication channels. Will also influence key tooling, processes and levers needed to drive agility in overall merchandising (e.g., Vrbo home page business ownership).

  • Consolidated program reporting: Support General Manager in consolidating progress, gaps, roadblocks and metrics across all Vrbo initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational or program management roles, or experience managing/consulting for businesses with complex multi-functional dependencies.

  • Experience in ecommerce, marketplace travel or hospitality industry is desirable.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior leadership.

  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and operational efficiency in the travel sector.

  • Experience managing promotional calendars and executing travel-related marketing campaigns desirable.

  • Proven ability to enhance customer satisfaction and manage NPS metrics.

  • Experience in operationalizing business initiatives and managing cross-functional projects in a consumer-facing industry; travel preferred

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $196,000.00 to $274,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $185,500.00 to $260,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $297,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
