Job Description:

The Director Business Technology US Credit Cards has oversight for supporting all business technology within TD's US Credit Card portfolio, including US Bank Card, Retail Card Services and Strategic Partnerships. The role is accountable for US Credit Card technology, including IT strategy and associated road map, project delivery, and operational stability and scalability. The Director interacts with senior executives across the bank, as well vendors and partners, to appropriately address technology demands. This includes ensuring appropriate levels of technology controls exist to protect business risk, in alignment with Federal and Industry based regulations, and compliance with internal standards.

Depth & Scope:

  • Accountable executive for US Credit Card Technology

  • Accountability includes: IT strategy and associated roadmap, project delivery, operational stability and scalability

  • Defines vision, strategy and priorities for US CC Technology in alignment with:  North American Credit Cards and Merchant Services & TD Insurance Technology Solutions (NACCMS & TDI TS) business and technology strategy; Enterprise Technology objectives (e.g., DASH)

  • Provides thought leadership and innovation with regards to technology and associated impact on US CCMS, leveraging enterprise teams, NACCMS Architecture and industry trends

  • Develops and nurtures IT talent for NACCMS & TDI TS and the Enterprise TS, including actionable succession plans and a strong bench

  • Consistently delivers on productivity and service targets

  • Proactively manages risk and compliance for US CC Technology

  • Ensures system availability for US CC systems leveraging NACCMS and TDI OSS Level 2 support and Technology Shared Services

  • Shapes the US CC strategy with the US CC business and Shared Services leaders

  • Drives consistency and reduces cost of developing and maintaining IT assets while improving overall delivery capability

  • Ensures execution of Enterprise action plans for Employee Engagement and Communications

  • Meets regulatory and risk expectations in partnership with Risk, COLA and Regulatory organizations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or post-graduate degree

  • Relevant work experience in Credit Card technology with a broader understanding across multiple IT disciplines

  • Demonstrated success supporting a major business’ needs, interacting effectively to determine requirements, define strategy and deliver solutions

  • Substantial experience in technology risk management that includes expertise in the areas of operational risk management (ORM), Technology Risk and IS security; The ideal candidate possesses broader skills than a highly technical CISO; Likewise, the ideal candidate is likely more knowledge of technology issues than a pure ORM

  • Possesses the leadership skills needed to work at this, and eventually at higher levels, within the TDBFG organization

  • Experience within a high transaction, large/complex/matrix business environment; Financial services experience is ideal

  • Has managed a multi-site team of at least 20 professionals/specialists

  • Deep knowledge of IT security and Risk disciplines and practices

  • Deep knowledge of the U.S. Regulatory landscape and impact to IT control governance

  • Ability to make an impact and execute on key strategies

  • Ability to articulate technology into business solutions

  • Excellent client engagement/management skills

  • Possesses exceptional strategic thinking, planning and relationship skills
