Position Summary

• Own full U.S. Accounting close, revenue recognition, and cost accounting
• Oversee accounting and financial reporting responsibilities for SG U.S. GL accounting, U.S. Lottery accounting, and Global Shared Services
• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting responsibilities for U.S. Lottery business units (Instant Products, Licensing & Loyalty, Lottery Systems, iLottery) and U.S. capital projects and fixed assets
• Position provides support to internal finance management and business unit operations for U.S. Lottery business units
• Own SG U.S. GL accounting and U.S. Lottery accounting
• Own Global Shared Service team leadership and outcomes

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting of the Lottery SG&A and R&D groups to senior management and corporate office for consolidation.
• Set policies and procedures as well as ensuring their compliance resulting in consistent, accurate and timely month end, quarter-end, and year-end closes. 
• Establish and implement appropriate policies to ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Provides guidance and direction to managers and staff members in the preparation of monthly balance sheet analysis, Profit and Loss analysis, weekly cash forecast as well as other accounting/financial reports to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of data to senior management.
• Work closely with the payroll and the HR group to ensure proper recording and compliance of payroll related activities (salaries, 401K, tax and deferred compensation).
• Responsible for accuracy in the finance related data in the Oracle HR system for all US employee such as HR department number, Oracle GL and HFM intersection fields.
• Owner of GRC module for the Accounts payable/Accounts Receivable/General ledger for US lottery group.
• Responsible for reviewing financial statements of all US Joint Venture and proposing entries to report SGI share of equity earnings.
• Coordinate and provide support in the annual audit and quarterly external audit reviews.
• Ensures that the financial reporting and Accounts Payables processes are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Responsible for the supervision, management, development and direction of financial and accounting staff – Senior Accounting Manager, Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable Supervisor and Accounts Payable Specialists.  Conduct annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases.  Establish individual and group goals and objectives for both short and long terms.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

Required

• CPA designation
• 15-20+ years of accounting experience
• 10+ years of experience managing Finance teams

Desired

• Big 4 experience
• Controller experience
• Understanding of budget and forecast process, to work alongside FP&A and CAOOracle, Hyperion, Blackline
