Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Director Systems Engineering 1 - Space Systems Engineering & Operations Center, where you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing complex space systems engineering and shaping mission-critical outcomes for our customers. This position will be based in Redondo Beach, CA.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Leading a dynamic 500+ member organization, ensuring technical excellence across systems engineering.
Overseeing four (4) departments and senior center staff with technical expertise in mission systems, space vehicle systems engineering, specialty engineering, launch systems integration, Requirements and verification, architecture, and cyber.
Managing and integrating SSEO staffing, employee development, employee engagement, performance management, SSE&O process management, and SSE&O investments, and participating in project and proposal reviews.
Shaping strategic initiatives including key investments in digital transformance, tools, sub-Class A process improvements, and cross-division execution.
Driving process refinement and ensuring consistent application across the organization to enable mission success.
Influencing and building relationships with program leaders to lead Directorate-wide System Engineering strategic initiatives to enhance sector performance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
Ten (10) years related program technical and leadership experience within Systems Engineering
Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracted, trains and inspires diverse engaged teams,
Proven ability to successfully work across multiple organization toward common goals.
Active Top Secret clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in functional management
Excellent written and verbal communication, plus strong leadership skills.
Experience leading large teams (100+)
Proven experience applying Systems Engineering and Operations processes for mission success across multiple phases of development, integration, or sustainment.
