This position is in the Inventory Control Department of Avesis’ Operations Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for sorting, batching, reviewing, and scanning of mail received by the Post Office daily. The mail includes all manners of business correspondence; however, most of the volume is related to Claims and Prior Authorizations submitted by Providers and Health Plan Members. There is also clinical data that may be needed for prior approval of specified clinical services, and other business-related materials. The specialist’s tasks include scanning of claims, xrays, and other materials and saving the completed work in specified files. The work of the Inventory Control Specialist is accomplished by using Avesis’ application systems and online reference tools. The Inventory Control Specialist’s productive output is guided by performance objectives for the position that specify the volume of documents to be processed on an hourly basis and required accuracy and quality performance standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Opening, sorting, batching, and cataloging mail according to specified procedures and Inventory Control processes.
  • Scanning x-ray radiographs and paper x-ray copies.
  • Scanning Claims and Prior Authorizations along with various clinical documents, ensuring that the integrity of the documents for individual files are retained as an intact unit.
  • Input Claims manually through Avesis’ Claims database.
  • Processing print-job requests from other Avesis Departments.
  • Processing items that are received through the ReversalFax and ScanFax process.
  • Processing items that are received through the Claim’s Department “One Stop Request” ticketing system.
  • Attend weekly/monthly team meetings with Data Entry and Inventory Control.
  • Maintain consistent accuracy and quality performance standards for documents processed by Avesis/Premier.
  • Assist in handling all returned mail for Avesis, Premier Access, and Guardian.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience preferred as an Inventory Control Administrator (recommended)
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications and other windows-based applications
  • Proficient attention to detail
  • Strong and effective verbal communication skills

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Hourly Range: $13.85 - 17.00
