Description


Position Overview: 


The idea candidate is a storyteller at heart, both visually and narratively. You are scrappy and resourceful in re-purposing assets, making stock beautiful, and in creative ways. In this role, you will work with the Seattle Symphony's marketing, development, artistic and operations teams. The right candidate will blend strong visual skills, creative ideas, and storytelling to deliver content that raises the creative bar. 


Essential Job Functions:


· Highly skilled in all aspects of content development, including script writing, budgeting, pre-production planning, interviewing.

· A hands-on producer who's willing to grab a camera to shoot a rehearsal, film an interview or b-roll as opportunities arise.

· Create and edit digital content for Seattle Symphony+ (our streaming service), YouTube and other social media platforms including artist interviews, sizzle reels, title sequences, trailers, explainers, talking-heads, presentation show elements, and short-form documentaries. 

· Obtain necessary approvals and communicate plans to relevant stakeholders; ensure brand consistency across projects.

· Works closely with the graphic design team to ensure cohesive brand standards by carrying over design concepts to all digital assets.

· Works with operations team to coordination content related to concert streaming, including potential broadcasts scripts, and other concert related materials for the production team. 

· Project manages cross-departmental content creation timelines, routing, and editing as needed.

· Manage video and photo archives in collaboration with other team members and departments.

· Monitor trends in the digital space and continually explore and evaluate new content opportunities.

· A strong knowledge of classical music is desired, but not required.

· Concert duty and event attendance as needed.


Requirements


Qualifications:


 ·  Strong organizational skills with ability to deftly handle multiple projects simultaneously

 ·  Familiarity with Brightcove, Asana and QuickBase preferred, but not required.

 ·  Flexible schedule, with a willingness to work evenings or weekends if needed.

 ·  Solid writing, editing, and proofreading skills

 ·  Good visual and film design sensibilities

 ·  Proficient on both Mac and PC computer platforms

 ·  Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and experience working within Sitecore or other CMS.

 ·  Desire to learn and keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices in streaming      technology.

·  Regular activities include frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and bending, climbing of ladders and working from heights 

· This position will frequently require pulling, lifting and climbing stairs.

· Ability to speak, hear and communicate clearly while handling staff inquiries, telephone calls and customer requests.

· Specific vision abilities require close visual acuity for viewing a computer screen and reading, preparing, entering and/or analyzing data.

· This position requires repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers for typing at a standard keyboard and regular pinching, picking up and holding pencils and other desk tools.

· Must have the ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
