Digital Engineering Manager

Lead and manage a team of Software Engineers and Developers to build, deliver, and support commercial initiatives at scale. Responsible for the digital software engineering of Inspire's consumer-facing solutions, products, and programs which includes company-owned web and mobile channels.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead technical execution and delivery of new initiatives as well as providing operational support for solutions in production
• Manage a team of developers directly; providing technical guidance to individuals and peers
• Mentor, guide, coach, and coordinate training opportunities; supporting individual growth of direct reports
• Ensure technical solutions are in line with company standards in respect to architecture, security, compliance, testing and product direction
• Leverage industry best practices and tools to continually improve teams' ability to deliver and maintain solutions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or similar preferred
• 3 years development experience in modern web development including JavaScript, Node.js, Reactive Native, ReactJS, Python
• 3 years of building and supporting large-scale and highly available technology solutions
• 2 years directly managing, or leading, a teams(s) of software engineers and developers
• Experience working in retail, restaurant and/or eCommerce industry preferred
• Experience working within an Agile development environment preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES

• Able to manage development team to deliverables: on time, scope and budget
• Experience working with agency partners
• Excellent presentation and soft skills; able to present complex technical concepts to business partners and senior management
• Experience leading teams with deep technical experience with Front-End development
• Deep understanding of creating and integrating REST-based web services
• Proficiency with source control and release technologies (e.g., Git and Azure DevOps) and practices (e.g., CI/CD and automation)
• Cross-Functional internal team exposure – has worked previously with Product, Design, QA and Delivery leads.
• Experience with supporting multiple versions and releases of software
• Can help onboard and provide support to developers as they learn in their careers.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum development teams
