This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Digital Design Engineer at John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, located in Fargo, ND, you will design, modify, and evaluate electronic products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals. You will plan, coordinate and perform requirements capture, design concepting, architecting, simulation, integration and verification for projects. In addition you will:
- Create, analyze, read and understand technical requirements written by others to determine the best technical solution for problems or projects.
- Develop and/or execute test benches or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
- Participate in resolution of product based technical issues whether within the company or with outside suppliers.
- Implement software using proven programming techniques. Solve tool suite set up problems. Solve integration issues that involve multiple software modules, code bases, and/or multiple developers. Critically review others’ software.

What Skills You Need
- Understanding of FPGA constraints, place and route, and timing analysis.
- Understanding of logic design using FPGA, CLPD or other programable logic devices.
- Understanding of Verilog/VHDL code development, synthesis, and simulation.
- Understanding of configuration management using revision controls tools such as Git, SVN, and Mecurial.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
What Makes You Stand Out
- Understanding of various video protocols such as MIPI CSI, Displayport, GMSL.
- Understanding of designing to harsh environmental specifications
- Understanding of compute performance of various AI/ML algorithms
- Understanding of control algorithms and feedback control theory
- Understanding of communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
- Understanding of high speed and wireless communication networks (e.g. Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc.)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited engineering program.
