Dietetic Technician Responsibilities:
- Completes and documents nutritional screenings within 24 hours of inpatient admission according to facility/ state/ accreditation requirements.
- Using medical record and interview with patient/family to collect food and nutrient intake information for factors that can affect health conditions and nutritional risks.
- Communicates results of screening, diet, and data collection for nutrition assessment to RDN; and report meal service-related data of immediate concern to diet office staff.
- Obtains medical, anthropometric, biochemical, and medical test data compares to standards provided by the RDN.
Requirements
Dietetic Technician Qualifications:
- Must have at least an associate's degree in nutrition, dietetics, and or food service systems management.
- Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- At least two years' experience in an Acute hospital or long-term care facility as a Dietetic Technician or dietary clerk.
