• The Pharmacy Inventory Specialist is dedicated to coordinating and monitoring inventory management related activities which are critical to maintaining the right focus on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that help customers on their path to better health. The Inventory Specialist works to enable a consistent approach to inventory management and critical inventory functions across the chain.
  
  Successful incumbents will be able to triage pharmacy tasks, balance efficiency with accuracy, work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment, and achieve excellence in customer service through compassion and genuine care for all patients while ensuring all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met. All pharmacy team members must demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  
  The Inventory Specialist responsibilities include:
  • Helping to establish true ownership for inventory management activities at store level and provides a clear communication channel for each store
  • Supporting all pharmacy ordering activity
  • Leading store through resets (ex. Rx Planogram)

  As an Inventory Specialist, you will be an example for and support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store.  Inventory Specialists assist in ensuring that pharmacy operations run smoothly; patients’ prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately; and that the team is providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations, both as a contributor and as a participant-leader.  More specifically, Inventory Specialists build upon the skills and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician, coordinating and monitoring inventory management activities, while leading with example and coaching the team to execute against best practices.  Inventory Specialists operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication. Throughout their shifts and in all customer and colleague interactions, they demonstrate CVS Health’s HeartAtWork behaviors, Helping With Heart Actions, and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered. 

  An Inventory Specialist is responsible for contributing to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, including but not limited to: 

  • Living our purpose of “Bringing our Heart to Every Moment of Your Health” by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health  

  • Following WeCARE workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (i.e., production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment 

  • Establishing ownership of inventory management activities and ensuring the pharmacy team maintains the highest level of inventory standards; Enables a consistent approach to inventory management and critical functions to maintain target inventory levels and mitigate inventory loss
