About the Role:
At Boston Scientific, the Field Service Technician II is responsible for maintaining and servicing advanced medical equipment. This includes performing system installations, preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting complex electronic issues, and handling equipment upgrades. The technician will interact directly with customers in hospitals, outpatient facilities, and physician’s offices.
This role will require approximately 75% travel, with the technician managing a designated territory that spans the Southeast US Region, traveling as necessary to service customers and perform required tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform on-site system installation, maintenance, and repairs for medical equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex electronic systems and replace components as needed.
- Provide preventative and corrective maintenance, including equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Conduct in-servicing and training for medical personnel on proper system usage and maintenance.
- Report all field activities, including equipment issues, complaints, and feedback, into the complaint handling and business systems.
- Handle warranty decisions, sales orders, and other administrative tasks related to equipment servicing.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation for service and complaints.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including special projects and continuous process improvement.
Required qualifications:
- Two-year college degree (AA) preferred, with a major in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (equivalent education/work experience is accepted).
- 2+ years of field service equipment experience (preferred 2+ years in medical equipment).
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic systems and components.
- Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment, including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple service tasks effectively.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, including at short notice for multiple-day trips.
- Must have a vehicle for service that is five years or newer and meets company insurance requirements.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to occasionally lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior Technical Field Service, Biomedical, or Military technical MOS experience.
- Experience in Electrophysiology, Laser, Medical Imaging, or Cath Lab technical/clinical roles.
- Strong administrative, computer networking, and equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in working within regulated environments and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
