Hospice Inpatient Unit RN

Full-Time REGISTERED NURSE at our Coastal Hospice at the Lake Inpatient Facility in Salisbury 

In this role, you will:

• Provide medical care to hospice patients in an inpatient setting
• Complete assessments, administer medications, and manage plan of care for patients during their shift
• Coordinate discharge planning with family and medical provider

• Be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA (American Nurses Association) Standards and the Nursing Process
• Utilize equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures
• Oversee and/or participates in safe medication handling and practices
• Educate patients and families on significant self-care and end of life issues, all hospice services, patient liability for payment and ensures consent and payer forms are completed
• Acts as a patient advocate, providing support, information and direct care
• Triage phone calls to identify patient/family needs and notifies Admission Services of referrals
• Oversee and delegates assignments of CMTs, LPNs, Hospice Aides, students and volunteers on shift

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, Delaware or other compact state
• BSN from an accredited college preferred
• CHPN certification expected within two (2) years of employment
