Overall  Purpose 

The Sr. Director, Digital Automation and Process Improvement is a strategic leader responsible for driving marketing transformation through the optimization of our MarTech stack and digital web properties. By focusing on emerging technologies, process improvement and automation, the Sr. Director will lead efforts to prepare the organization for growth, broaden marketing enablement to new stakeholder groups (including merchants), and recommend/onboard new tools & technology that enhance core marketing initiatives such as campaign management and loyalty program performance.  

This role designs creative, technology-driven solutions to scale; streamlines workflows; enhances creative and operational processes; and enables data-driven decision-making. This leader will serve as a key influencer across the business, championing the integration of scalable marketing solutions, automation, AI for marketing use cases, and next-generation tools to deliver scalable, measurable, and innovative improvements that strengthen efficiency, deepen customer engagement, and maximize brand impact. 

Essential Functions 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to redesign processes and optimize our MarTech ecosystem to reduce manual effort, accelerate time-to-market, and prepare the business to scale into new markets and customer groups  

  • Own the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for embedding AI-powered decisioning, personalization, and predictive analytics into marketing operations. Serve as a visible thought leader and advisor on evolving technology for marketing. 

  • Spearhead the deployment of automation solutions, including campaign orchestration, content generation, workflow automation and loyalty programs to optimize efficiency and empower marketing teams to deliver more personalized, scalable, and timely campaigns. 

  • Establish governance, standards, and best practices for the responsible use of automation in marketing operations and across key digital properties such as our portal for UDAAP compliance. 

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation and emerging technology solutions that strengthen loyalty program performance and customer lifetime value. Leverage data-driven insights to improve program efficiency, engagement, and scalability across new and existing channels. 

  • Drive partnerships with merchants and other external partners to integrate marketing automation and loyalty program tools which amplify the value beyond traditional customer groups. Ensure systems and processes support a growing ecosystem of stakeholders. 

  • Manages and develops a high-performing team that thrives on innovation, continuous learning, and strategic enablement. Foster a culture of digital leadership and accountability. 

  • Collaborate with technology, data, legal, compliance and analytics partners to ensure seamless integration of tools and automated workflows. 

  • Serve as a thought leader and advisor to executive leadership on automation opportunities, AI applications, and the future of digital marketing operations. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing design/graphics, communications, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in a related field, with at least 5 years in people management. 

  • Strong understanding of marketing operations, brand strategy, and creative processes. 

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and oversee senior team members. 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with process improvement and implementing technology-driven solutions.
