YOU

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will streamline manufacturing process; eliminate waste, increase efficiency, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement through the manufacturing plant and warehouse/shipping department. You will also be responsible to identify automation needs, research and contact equipment vendors, negotiate prices and terms, spearhead the project, and work across multiple organizations to deliver on time and within budget. You’ll lead a team of Kaizen associates to recognize bottlenecks in manufacturing processes, collect and analyze data, place corrective actions, implement counter measures, evaluate process after change, compile results, present findings, and solutions, and recommend permanent changes to process, develop work instructions and train associates. You are driven to own and maintain all manufacturing processes and meet all guidelines.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Work to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency. Research and create new methods of manufacturing processes and recommend achieving maximum production capacity and efficiency while developing innovative solutions. Research and purchase new manufacturing technologies. (60%)

Collect, organize and analyze data, summarize findings, develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources. You’ll design, develop and/or source and cost- justify various machinery and equipment for recommended automation and manufacturing methods. Carry out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. (25%)

Create and maintain standard work for all processes. (10%)

Stay up to date on technological advancement by researching and attending different workshops and studying white paper articles/magazines and be able to relate to branch needs. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (minimum) required.
  • 2+ years experience in either working or completing projects in a manufacturing plant.
  • Projects: Project management, scheduling and risk management, presentation skills, MS Office, AutoCAD
  • Process improvement: Lean Manufacturing, Process Modeling, Statistical Methods, Root Cause Analysis, Time Studies, Automation.
  • Operation Improvement: Ergonomics & Human Factors, Capacity Planning, Operation Plans.
  • Integrated Systems: Value Stream Analysis.
  • Analytical ability: Data collection and analysis.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This position requires domestic travel up to 10% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in McKinney, TX.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$75,100 - $97,600 / year
