Job Title: Cyber Security Strategist
Location: Remote
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Alpha Omega is seeking a Cyber Security Strategist to be a part of a Federal strategy and policy program. This team works closely with senior federal leadership to distill national cyber security mission requirements, identify gaps in current services, and draft strategic documents outlining future activities, ensuring they closely align with national cyber memoranda, security plans, policies and publications. This position is not technical in nature, but rather requires an ability to work well with senior leaders, understand the current internal and external cybersecurity policy and plan landscape, and draft detailed strategic documents.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to uncover issues, identify trends, and provide insights that drive organizational strategy, operational and budgetary alignment with national policy.
- Designing and delivering customized, engaging, results-oriented documents to help achieve organizational transformation outcomes. Use design thinking principles to facilitate problem-solving for a range of government audiences, from senior leaders to front-line implementers.
- Developing risk mitigating strategies, identifying areas for systemic improvement, and building long-term strategies to ensure assets are secure, and internal and external compliance requirements are addressed.
- Providing content and artifact development, review and expertise drafting cybersecurity documentation, including organizational and change management plans, technical roadmaps, programmatic strategies and implementation plans, and compelling justification of same.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Zero Trust and Supply Chain Management background is strongly preferred.
- Background in security standards and frameworks such as: NIST CSF, FISMA, Privacy & FedRAMP.
- Has experience working with executives and senior management as well as cybersecurity engineers & architects.
- Experience in cyber security policy, organizational change management, roadmaps, and strategy and implementation plan development.
- Possess strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate external business requirements into internal ones.
- Ability to identify and solve the core business needs, turning vague or aspirational requirements into clear and concise strategic requirements.
- Ability to conduct reviews of current activities to identify gaps between current activities and other requirements.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Ability to build solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to clients.
- Maintains awareness of client environment, culture, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Maintains external environmental awareness of legislation, regulations, and policies that may impact the client.
