JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Loan Accountant is responsible for completing daily, monthly, and quarterly loan accounting activities. This position utilizes knowledgeable of applicable US GAAP, critical thinking, and the ability to work autonomously when necessary.

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Loan Accountant is responsible for completing daily, monthly, and quarterly loan accounting activities. This position utilizes knowledgeable of applicable US GAAP, critical thinking, and the ability to work autonomously when necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare journal entries, perform accounting research, and efficiently analyze large transactional data as it pertains to loan accounting
- Preform timely account reconciliations for multiple loan accounting sub-ledgers to the general ledger
- Analyze and post interest income and fees for the loan portfolio
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for various departments
- Assist in the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
- Participate in formally documenting loan accounting procedures
- Assist in preparing audit support for external auditors and respond to audit inquiries
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline from an accredited institution required
- CPA preferred
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with 2+ years of loan specific accounting experience required
- Evidence of strong technical accounting skills with a focus on accounting for receivables and the transfers of financial assets required
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and written, with multiple lines of business
- Demonstrate analytical skills and competency, with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Sit or stand at a desk
- Walk, stoop down, crouch, kneel or bend over
- Use hands and fingers
- Utilize a computer monitor with visual acuity
- Operate technology and other office machinery such as printers, fax machines, scanners, etc.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with others
