Quality Associate – Document Control - Litchfield, MN
The Document Controller will work closely with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisors, Warehouse/Inventory Supervisor, Production personnel and Quality Technicians. The position reports directly to the Quality Compliance Specialist.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Document Control Specialist is a qualified Quality Technician and is trained to adequately perform all duties required of a Quality Technician.
- Self-Motivated, independent, strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills.
- Provides hands on training and leadership to all employees at Revela Foods – Litchfield, LLC.
- Will assist Quality Compliance Specialist in the direction and compliance of all documents at Revela Foods – Litchfield, LLC.
- Can fill in for Quality Compliance Specialist on day to day tasks as needed.
- Support in the reviews of Quality manual, cGMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Crisis Management, Allergen Control, Food Safety Culture and HACCP when required; to ensure that it meets regulatory requirements and customer expectations as directed by the Quality Manager and Quality Compliance Specialist.
- Provide support in all recall or crisis management issues as directed by Quality Management.
- Assists in writing investigations as directed by Quality Management.
- Assist in the enforcement, update, and review documents, cGMPs, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen,
- Alert the Quality Management of actual or potential issues that may have an effect on the Safety / Quality / Integrity / Security of raw materials, packaging components, finished products, equipment, and buildings/grounds.
- Empowered to act within the scope of their responsibilities to resolve the impact of these issues immediately.
- Ensure individuals are informed and held accountable to these programs / procedures.
- Maintain and ensure proper documentation is followed.
- Assist in the review of new customer’s processing protocols and questionnaire to ensure that proposed protocols adhere to RFL’s Quality programs.
- Support RFL training programs related to Quality, cGMP, Food Safety, Food Safety Culture, Food Defense, Food Fraud, Crisis Management, Allergen, and HACCP.
- Provide support to Quality Manager/Quality Compliance Specialist for all internal plant Quality issues.
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, and ERP systems, and document management systems.
- Time Management skills: able to prioritize/manage their time effectively, and switch between tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to learn, understand, and stay up to date with regulatory requirements as they pertain to Revela Foods – Litchfield, LLC: included but not limited to: FDA, MDA, Kosher, Organic, etc.
- Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required. Assist with document retrieval during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Develop process documents based on input from various sources, ensure proper approvals, and distribution.
- Create and approve batch records based on customer supplied information. Upload approved batch records and associated documentation to ERP system.
- Performs reviews of Quality procedures and programs.
- Provide support to the Quality Manager for the 3rd party certifications required by the customer (SQF, Organic, Kosher, Halal, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, etc), in regards to documentation.
- Report suspicious activity or unusual observations to the Quality Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Management.
