Job Description:
Capgemini is seeking a highly skilled Senior API Engineer with a strong background in Azure. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in API engineering with a focus on designing developing and maintaining APIs on the Azure platform. This role offers a phenomenal opportunity to contribute to the development of robust and scalable API solutions that drive business growth and enhance customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design develop and implement APIs on the Azure platform to support various business requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather requirements define API specifications and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Architect API solutions that adhere to best practices scalability and security standards.
• Integrate APIs with existing systems applications and third party services to enable seamless data exchange and interoperability.
• Optimize API performance reliability and scalability through continuous monitoring testing and performance tuning.
• Implement security measures such as authentication authorization and encryption to protect critical data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Fix and resolve issues related to API functionality performance and integration in a timely manner.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies trends and standard processes in API engineering and Azure cloud services.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes tools and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Required Skills:

• 8 to 9 years of proven experience in software development with a focus on API engineering.
• Proficiency in designing and developing APIs using Azure API Management, Azure Functions Azure Logic Apps and other Azure services.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles HTTP protocols and JSON XML data formats.
• Experience with API security mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT and SSL TLS.
• Proven understanding of cloud computing concepts including Infrastructure as a Service IaaS Platform as a Service PaaS and Software as a Service SaaS.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to analyze sophisticated technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate optimally with team members and customers.
• Relevant certifications in Azure cloud services or API development e.g. Azure Developer Associate Azure Solutions Architect are preferred.
