Supervisor, Corporate Accounting

Our property portfolio is rapidly scaling, and we are seeking a dynamic Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team. As a member of Evergreen Residential’s Accounting team, the Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the Company and support a variety of accounting deliverables across the corporate accounting function, including general ledger, close, and financial reporting activities. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of accounting, combining hands-on preparation with review responsibilities while gaining exposure to cross-functional processes and leadership within the organization. This position reports to the Assistant Controller.

This is an office-based position based in Dallas, TX with hybrid schedule.

The Role:   This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Review and approve monthly adjusting and accrual entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end general ledger review for accuracy and completeness.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring entries and follow up are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Review and approve Accounts Payable invoices in accounting systems (Ender/Yardi), and review for GL coding, approval and documentation.
• Prepare management fee schedules for the assigned portfolio in accordance with management agreements.
• Interact and work with the company’s property management and operations teams.
• Assist with the continual implementation of operating systems in collaboration with property management, asset management, and investor reporting.
• Assist in the annual audit and tax return preparation cycles.
• Oversee assigned ad hoc projects, as needed.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet support schedules and investigate outstanding old items.
• Assist in updating account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to existing procedures.

 

Qualifications and Experience:   As a relatively new company undergoing significant growth we need someone ready, willing and excited to be part of continuing to build the accounting function.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 3 – 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Working knowledge of US GAAP is preferred
• Experience in real estate property accounting is preferred
• Experience with ASC606, ASC842 is preferred
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills with good problem-solving ability
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Able to manage time effectively and complete assigned work within specified deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency with Excel, experience with ERP systems (Yardi, NetSuite)
• Adaptability in a highly dynamic working environment
