Job Summary:

Acts as the patient's Sliding Fee Discount Program Specialist throughout Valley Health Partners Community Health Center.
In doing so, gathers financial information, informs patients of alternatives for financial obligation for services and assists
indigent parties in obtaining free or financial assistance based on the sliding fee policy.

Qualifications:

Education:      

• • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, Social Services or a related field.

Experience:       

• • One-year previous experience in a customer-oriented environment, patient registration or insurance related field.
  • Three years previous experience in a customer- oriented environment, patient registration or insurance related field, preferred

Training:

• • Successful completion of LVHN Revenue Cycle Training

Licenses & Certifications:

• • Driver's license required due to high volume of travel and home visits in the service area.
  • Certification or formal training on revenue cycle, SHIP, preferred

Skills needed:

• • Successful completion of LVHN/Jefferson Revenue Cycle Training within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally- both verbally and in writing-with patients, families, community partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to anticipate patient financial needs, interpret complex insurance or eligibility information, and accurately documents and relay information to appropriate personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess patient’s situations, identify potential coverage pathways and support resolution through financial assistance programs, Medicaid applications, Marketplace enrollment, SFS program guidelines, or payment arrangements.
  • Fluent in Spanish
