GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Receives and weighs all incoming raw material on scale and oversees transfer from truck to conveyer lines. Completes all weight certificates according to County Weights & Measures guidelines. Keep wash tanks clean. May relieve line staff in plant for meal and rest breaks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives Yard trucks and moves trailers to be staged for dumping product on Aprons or placing trailers on air.
Weighs incoming bulk trucks of raw materials and completes incoming paperwork and weight certificates. Becomes knowledgeable and certified in weights and measures in accordance with receiving product. Maintain proper and accurate records.
Operates a hoist to dump the truck bins of incoming material. Also assist in relieving other shift personnel for breaks and lunches.
Operates a receiving conveyor belt to receive the material. Adjusts the speed of the belt, as needed.
Operates a mini-clamshell product leveler to “even out” the product on the receiving conveyor.
Instructs the incoming truck drivers onto the receiving ramp and into dumping positions. Move or replace garbage trailer whenever necessary, using the Truck that is designated to that trailer.
Inspects incoming product for any foreign material.
Keep all walkways, driveways, and production area grounds clean and unobstructed.
Assist supervisors; shift lead or maintenance personnel whenever required in accordance with production maintenance.
Become knowledgeable of sanitation procedures during unscheduled production shifts.
May be required to perform other job duties as assigned.
Required to work any shift.
Required to work overtime if necessary.
Receiver needs to work together with the receivers on the other shifts and assist each other when necessary.
Practices safety awareness.
Adheres to GMP guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred high school education
Preferred experience with unloading trucks
Ability to navigate within a Warehouse Management System
Basic computer skills, including the ability to:

Use a computer, keyboard, and mouse proficiently
Navigate Windows or macOS operating systems
Send, receive, and organize emails
Use internet browsers and conduct basic web searches
Enter and update information accurately in digital systems

QualificationsCONTACTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must keep in contact with the supervisor and other employees of incoming material. Must posses ability to communicate over 2-way radio. Errors in weighing product will affect inventory and accounting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working with outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
Working in a cold room that is temperatures down to -35 degrees.
During times of the season, aromatic smells will be throughout the plant.
Will need to be able to climb in and out of the Yard and Trash Trucks.

Continuously exposed to near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
 

EQUIPMENT:

The receiving operator will be required to become a certified weighmaster. Must be able to drive the Yard Truck and the Trash Trucks. Will use the Yard truck to move trailers on the facility, will not drive out on the road. Will operate the Mini-Clamshell on the Aprons to level out product.
