Community Center Assistant Manager/Lead will develop, plan, and administer a variety of community services and recreation programs to include special events and recreational activities. Assist experienced recreation staff in all phases of recreational activities at the assigned sites. Assist, develop, and monitor with facility annual budget, maintenance, and capital improvements. Establish schedules and procedures to provide recreational services and facility use. Requires participation in basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) skills training. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist in the management and operational program activities of a Community Center/Recreational Facility. 2. Assist with the development and monitoring of facility annual budget; planning and purchasing functions; and development of facility maintenance and capital improvements. 3. Assist in selecting, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating, full-time, seasonal, contractual, and volunteer staff. 4. Co-develop and implement recreational, educational and leisure programs. 5. Maintain cooperative planning arrangements and working relationships with County departmental, public, and outside agencies. 6. Assist in preparing reports, maintain records for facility operations, i.e., program participation, monthly revenues, special events, inventory, and other program related activities. 7. Performs clerical duties, i.e., basic computer programs, receipting and depositing monies, interoffice and public correspondence. 8. Assist with coordinating facility use and special events. 9. Assist with managing facility maintenance and equipment. 10. Assist in implementing County policies. 11. Incumbent(s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records, plans, documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.   12. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Education, or related field, and one (1) year of work experience in recreation, community service program management, program administration or facility management. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following: 1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation. 2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County. 3. Employee must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license by employment date and maintain a valid NM driver’s license while employed in this position. 4. Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position. 5. Employee must complete required supervisor classes if applicable. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. All essential duties are performed indoors and outdoors. 2. Indoors duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment on an even surface, which may be carpeted or tile. 3. Outdoor duties may expose worker to natural weather conditions. Outdoor duties are performed on surfaces that include concrete, asphalt, ramps, natural ground, gravel and stairs which may be wet or dry. 4.
