Job Summary:

Are you ready for a thrilling opportunity that combines exceptional customer service with the dynamic world of dental medicine? As a Patient Intake/Scheduling Assistant at the School of Dental Medicine, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch dental care at our School. You'll be the friendly face and voice that greets and assists up to 250+ patients daily, both in person and virtually. Your support in operating the Information/Reception areas will be key in triaging and directing inquiries, scheduling appointments through cutting-edge electronic health record systems, and discussing treatment plans with new patients. With a balance of front desk reception and patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, and payment tasks, your days will be diverse, fast-paced, and rewarding. Working alongside dental students, faculty, and staff, you'll ensure that each patient's journey is efficient, professional, and compassionate. Key Responsibilities: 

Front Desk Reception/Phones/Virtual Communication – 50% (Essential Function)  

  • Greet and assist virtual, phone and walk-in customers. 
  • Decides which patient concerns or inquiries need to be passed on to the clinic director, office manager, resident, or faculty. 
  • Page students, staff and faculty and takes messages as necessary. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the 250+ patients seen daily. 
  • Answer all incoming calls and disseminate appropriately to the correct person or department. 
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding dental school policies. 

Patient Check-In/Check-Out, Scheduling/Payment – 50% (Essential Function) 

  • Greet patients and monitor patient check-in and check-out. 
  • Maintain and retrieve confidential patient records including updating patient information and signatures.
