The Role  

Secure and service events business from assigned markets with an emphasis on social events through active and effective promotion, solicitation, and prospecting, while maintaining FS standards and maximizing revenue/profit potential. Communicate the needs and expectations of the client with all departments in the hotel. Ensure successful execution of event and client satisfaction.


Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Quarterly Sales Goals. Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and personal sales calls.
  • Manage assigned catering accounts with repeat potential strategically, ensuring that cross selling with other disciplines is maintained and all business opportunities are uncovered and pursued.
  • Actively participate in local networking organizations that add value to business development efforts for the Hotel.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Department and Catering to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues/profitability. Conduct property tours and entertain planners of  social events,
  • Maintain strong knowledge of food and beverage trends, décor trends and a robust list of quality subcontractors that can provide creative services, ensuring that same are fully vetted and set up for billing with the Hotel if required.
  • Seamlessly order subcontracted items at local upcharge policy, using advance PO system to process billing.
  • Negotiate with clients through the use of creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals, to achieve both maximum revenue/profit potential and fulfillment of contractual responsibilities while satisfying client needs.
  • Negotiate and manage small room blocks associated with catering events in consultation with DORM and DOS providing meet and greet/amenities when appropriate.
  • Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not limited to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning CS Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Business Review, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.
  • Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event.
